Project Bombs and Eternity

Any completionist that has played Green Day Rock Band knows there are two achievements that are nearly impossible to obtain. "Louder Than Bombs and Eternity" and "A Very Troubled Youngster".

I consider myself very good at playing Rock Band and Guitar Hero drums but after sitting down and spending a significant amount of time playing Tre's Greatest Hits yesterday and not even being able to hit the notes on the final solo at 50% speed I realized I will probably never unlock this achievement.

That is why I am starting a project and calling it "Project Bombs and Eternity" so I can unlock these annoying achievements and hopefully help many others unlock them as well. The only materials required will be a Guitar Hero drum set (a Rock Band 3 MIDI pro adapter might work), a computer, and a MIDI to USB cable.

I will probably not be able to get a good start for the next week or two due to finals at school, but when I begin I will try to keep my blog updated with any progress I have made. When I do start I am going to look into using a computer as a MIDI output (by using the USB to MIDI adapter) connected to the MIDI input on either a Guitar Hero drum kit for games prior to Rock Band 3 or a MIDI pro adapter for pro instruments in Rock Band 3. I hope to do this by either obtaining rips of the MIDI charts used in the making of Guitar Hero or Rock Band charts or if I cannot find those I may make the charts manually.

I plan on making at the very minimum a MIDI chart for the kick notes in Brain Stew/Jaded, but I hope to make Charts for all of Tre's Greatest Hits as well. Depending on how much time is required to make new charts and how much time I have, I hope to also chart all of Rock Band 1's drum charts (for those that do not have co op partners), the pro keys trainers, pro drum trainers, pro guitar trainers, some vocal parts, and other miscellaneous drum achievements.
